Compass: Be still

A compass always points north by aligning itself with the magnetic field. Much like Christians point to God, if we align ourselves with Jesus.

If the compass is twirled around too fast, it points a different direction. Christians also point in a different direction if we’re too busy for time with God.

To properly read a compass, it requires the user be still. Just like Christians should be still to allow our inner compass needle to align itself with God once again.

The needle of the Holy Spirit directs us to the truth. Be still and allow your needle to orient with God.

Action Step: Read scripture and be still for 15 minutes. Contemplate its message to you. Throughout the day notice the difference.

Scriptures:

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10.

And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever. Isaiah 32:17.

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Psalm 37:7
