Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18.

These words feel appropriate for this quarantine.
Guidelines for life during suffering.

Acknowledge those who work hard among you,
Doctors, nurses, and grocery store employees too.

Hold them with high regard because of their job
Truck drivers and pharamicists, not those who rob.

Learn to live in peace with each other.
Treat everyone you meet just like a brother.

Warn those who are disorderly and not following the rule
As we collectively try to keep our cool.

Comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
For we’re all distressed and waiting for this to be done

Pursue good for believers and non-believers alike.
By social distancing and washing hands so Covid-19 can take a hike

We will rejoyce always, pray continually and give thanks.
For everyone everywhere, no matter their ranks.

And so these instructions are done.
Go live them out until the battle against Covid-19 is won.
