Dear Lord,
I have discovered unintended houseguests snuck into my house. They have their own room, which makes their presence familiar. My journal states I’ve entertained them before under different circumstances. This discovery has resolved my determination to oust these houseguests. They are no longer welcome. These houseguests don’t take hints and don’t know when to leave. They have to go.
They don’t want to leave. They drag their feet and take their time packing. Their names? Discouragement. Defeat. Uncertainty. Hopelessness.
I finally get the sword of the Word out to forcefully persuade them to leave.
Take this Discouragement! Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord! Psalm 31:24
Listen to this Defeat! For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. Proverbs 3:26
Hasta la vista, Uncertainty! A man’s steps are ordered by the Lord; how then can man understand his way? Proverbs 20:24
Leave Hopelessness! Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23
Thank you, Lord for all your promises!
Amen
